- JTT 10 is an honors course.
- An honors class must generate thinkers. Students will be called upon to discuss both the literature and history and to offer their opinions about ideas. JTT 10 will cover a great amount of material and we will discuss the material orally and through writing assignments. If a student does NOT read the material, he cannot participate in discussion. I expect honors level students to always be prepared for class!
- Another goal of an honors class is to develop students who can write college level essays and write them quickly during exam periods. As such, JTT 10 will focus on long paragraphs with sub-topics and long essays including the 5 paragraph essay and the 11 paragraph historical essay. Students will also receive timed writing practice during essay tests.
- JTT 10 counts as Honors English 2 and World History on the transcript, if you make an A or B. There is NO honors credit for a C.
