Journey Through Time 10
"Some to work, some to pray, some to fight...."
This yearlong course, which meets for 32 weeks, examines the impact of the church, chivalry, and feudalism on the development of Europe during the Medieval Time period. The literature continues the study of the Epic and visits the time of King Arthur, Roland, and Gawain. Then, we head north to the land of the Neubulings to visit the literature of Iceland and Germany. We will stop in to see what Magnus Chase is doing in the newest Rick Riordan novel. The literary journey continues with a visit to Scotland (Macbeth), Canterbury (Tales), Italy (the Divine Comedy), and finally to the world of Everyman. Filled with challenging projects, Readers Theaters, and other fun activities, this year is sure to be a memorable year of history and literature. This year’s writing focuses on advanced expository paragraphs with sub-topic sentences, and various college essay formats, including the MLA Style research paper and Critical Lens Essay.
